The director Vyacheslav Dolgachev and the artistic designer Margarita Demyanova resisted the temptation to modernize the plot. But at the same time there is no deliberate mundanity in “Salem’s Witches”.
The actors of The New Drama bravely leap into reclaiming the most difficult Miller’s material. Here we have bright psychological portraits as well as the obvious detachment in order everyone can draw their own conclusions from what happens on the stage.
No one falls into the passionate seriousness and no one declaims; the history is alive and breathing, letting the audience to take an active part in it. It is not necessary to come on the stage for it…
