The second night. Men and women

«A lovely Sunday for Creve Coer».

The «family theme» is also felt here, however strange it would be, because Tennessee Williams can hardly be called the suitable author for this. The director deliberately decided to go against the material, and this is fully shown in the final scene, excellent per se.

Anyway, to compare the production with the play is the ungrateful task. The discrepancies come at any moment and the specialists will be surely disappointed. However the stage possibilities of «A Lovely Sunday» imply the melodrama, and Dolgachev is consistent in the chosen genre ('women’s stories in two parts') without loosing the irony.
